Entropia Universe (or Project Entropia) is a MMO Sandbox game that uses a unique real-cash economy system, where the in-game currency (PED) is directly linked to the US Dollar.
I joined Mindark as a Junior Economy Balance Designer in January 2022. Although, during my first year I pivoted towards a Technical Game Design direction, in order to assist with the Unreal Engine 5 update that was being worked on at the time. In September of 2023, I got promoted to the Intermediate level of Game Designer.
Over the past 2 years, most of my work has been focused on the Combat Design, System Design and overall CCC improvements that are being created. These features are designed systemic, with the purpose of being able to scale the gameplay for both a large player population, and a vast library of items.

SYSTEM DESIGN
I designed mechanics for new features from scratch, wrote design documents, held sync meetings, and tested the designs before production.
I was a stakeholder for 3 features and also created design documents and presentations for other features.
PROTOTYPING & SCRIPTING
I quickly proved my prototyping skills, leading to the addition of "prototype developer" to my role.
I enjoyed this aspect of the job as it allowed me to explore Unreal Engine, iterate rapidly, and test mechanics with proper controls and gameplay context.
WEAPON DESIGN
My standout work was designing the game's weapon abilities. I adopt an asymmetrical and minimalist approach, prioritizing clarity and intuitiveness.
Players should grasp a weapon's capabilities without resorting to strategy guides.
I aimed to ensure each weapon had a unique playstyle, easy to comprehend yet challenging to master.
Technical Game Designer
My primary field is Game Design, but I've done a lot of scripting and programming as well. I'm not one to sit on the sidelines and wait for someone to tell me what to do, I want to help my team and do my part.
Through my career I have worn many different hats in development teams and have often driven a game mechanic, system or feature, from concept stage, to prototyping, interation, and then to the final product stage.
